Fast Past: A Midnight Thought

NYC 2007 006

The speed of time. So relative.
Changing forever as you grow old.
Changing. That is, getting faster.

Live an event, an incident, an affair.
Go through it, love it, enjoy it, suffer it…
And once it ends, it starts to get behind, to be left behind.

An experience. Like sex.
Real just a second before.
Becomes memory… masturbation… and stays back.

Present moving forward faster and faster.
Away from it. Towards the end.
A runaway train rushing forward
Like a rocket from hell.

Life left behind.
Love a vanishing point.
All becoming past fast.
Crash!

Al leer tu texto no he podido evitar recordar al gran TS Eliot:
Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.

Feliz y mágico 2009...
Un abrazo cordial desde España :)
